Welcome to the Xian Tian college

The Xian Tian College of Chinese Medicine is an independent college of study that teaches Acupuncture, Tui Na Bodywork, Qi Emission and Chinese Herbal Medicine amongst other subjects. We do not teach a system of practice that has been modernised to bring it in line with western science and neither to we steer away from the subjects of Qi and Shen as if these are outdated models from a primitive age. We are classical in our approach to Chinese medicine as the director of the college is a student of the Daoist and Buddhist traditions. The traditional ways are interwoven through our teachings so that students of the Xian Tian college are delving deeply into the ancient lineages of the far-East.

passionate about chinese medicine

We are happy to accept applications from anybody who is over the age of 18 and ready to commit to an in-depth study of Chinese Medicine. What we do ask though, is that we only receive applications from those who are passionate about reaching their full potential in their practice. We do not want applications from those who are only half-interested or studying Chinese Medicine because they do not know what else to do with their career path. Xian Tian College is a branch of the Lotus Nei Gong School and, as such, we are a close-knit community of students and followers of the Eastern way. If you feel that you would like to join a like-minded passionate group of internal practitioners then Xian Tian College may be a good fit for you.

We do not teach in a standard ‘University-style’ fashion with students sat in rows, listening to dry lectures. Instead, we study in a practical fashion with seminars held in various locations including the UK and Portugal.. Though we teach a very complete system of Chinese medical theory, we also place great importance on functional skills and so we work to ensure that each student develops the true ‘Gong’ or ‘masterful quality’ that a Chinese medical practitioner should have.

Lotus Nei Gong

Xian Tian College is the Chinese Medical branch of the Lotus Nei Gong International School of Daoist Arts. Both branches work closely together to provide complete and in-depth training in these arts. UK Professional Qualification

All of our courses are accredited with the Acupuncture Society and the British Acupuncture Federation, and registered with Balens Insurance.  This ensures that our courses meet the top standards, and allows our students to apply for professional registration with them once they graduate.

The completion of the required modules means that you will be awarded with a Diploma qualification which makes you eligible to practice in the UK as well as some other countries. You will have to research whether you are able to practice in your own country with this qualification as each country has its own regulation on Chinese medical (and in particular Acupuncture) practice.

Modular Study Times

The various modules of the course may be studied at the chosen speed of the student but, on average, you can expect to take around 2.5-3 years to complete your Chinese medical training with us. This training will give you a professional qualification in your chosen subject.

Over the course of 2.3-3 years, we ensure that we cover the various modules and so students attend the subjects that are needed for their training. Pre-qualified practitioners through either Xian Tian or another college may attend any of the modules that they see fit to attend providing they have the pre-requisite knowledge that is required. If you have any queries on this please do not hesitate to contact us.

Retreats

Lengthier intensive retreats are a thing we expect in meditation, Qigong or Yoga schools but we rarely see them in Chinese medicine. Xian Tian College takes a slightly different approach to its teaching and, as such, we actually run lengthy retreats in parts of the subject including Acupuncture, Tui Na, Energetics and more.

These retreats are run in various places including the Algarve of Portugal and even in South-East Asia. This is the preferred teaching style for Damo and so some modules may be completed in this fashion. With this option, students have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the subject and benefit from intensive, focused training.

Due to the Covid situation, these retreats have been put on hold. As of 2022 we are restarting the college but we are doing so in a step-by-step manner. This means that these retreats will be a little way off yet; probably a couple of years.

“As a fully qualified and practicing acupuncturist, I have been often asked why undertake further training at the same level. The quality, depth, support and authenticity of the training is my response. Partway through the diploma I have already received teachings that are fundamentally changing how I practice, for the better. I truly cannot recommend enough.

If considering a career in Chinese Medical Arts XianTian College is the only choice I would even consider. XianTian is setting a new benchline in excellence.”
